IT Transition & Release Lead (WFH options available)

Purpose of the role:


My client has several IT Technology projects for delivery to support the growth of the business. Working together with Business Process Leads either from within the IT team, Engineering, Manufacturing, or the supply chain, this role will support the definition and realisation of the strategic Engineering and manufacturing Systems Product roadmap that will be delivered over the programme's lifecycle.
The IT Transition & Release Lead will work closely with the IT Delivery Streams to ensure all IT initiatives are successfully transitioned into support. They will have a deep understanding and experience in service management (with an operational and/or service delivery bias) and excellent knowledge and experience of all ITIL processes, especially Transition and release and release management.


Results and Achievements:


Have the ability to evaluate Transition & Release plans and determine priority, urgency, Investigate any failures or back out implementations in close cooperation with other Service Management and delivery functions They will perform regular Transition & Release & Release Management trend analyses and identify need/opportunity for improvement. Review and approve Transition & Release Plans from a scheduling and process conformance perspective. Analyse Transition & Release & Release Management performance and produce required reports.


Technical skills:


• Proven experience in service management (with an operational and / or service delivery bias).
• Excellent knowledge and experience of all ITIL processes especially Transition & Release and release management.
• Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a Cross-Delivery Transition & Release Management Information System to record and maintain Transition & Release/Release Management data.


Background:


• Background in software delivery discipline with at least 5 years experience in process improvement on software solutions
• Exhibited delivery of high-impact, high-value business outcomes across a wide spectrum of enterprise software initiatives.
• ITIL or similar qualification in Service Management.
• Experience in setting up release artefacts for new software applications.
• Defining what s required for application release
• Producing and defining checklists for application releases
