About us and the role

We are seeking to appoint a talented and dedicated Chemistry Teacher. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching to the highest standard, committed to maintaining a healthy, comfortable environment, and can develop their practice in the school.

Avanti House is a secondary school 11-19 school that opened in 2012. Currently there are 1232 students with a Sixth Form of 320. Avanti schools are Hindu-designated faith schools. However, all staff members at Avanti House School will not be required to present themselves from any specific faith background and there will be no preference given in this regard. This is an exciting time to join the school as it continues its journey to outstanding.

Avanti House provides an extensive professional development network through the Avanti Institute including an excellent ECT and ECT plus one programme of development - Avanti Institute – Part of the Avanti Schools Trust.

What will you do?

Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teachBe responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriateBe aware of pupils’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on these, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learnEstablish a safe, purposeful and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect and establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies, using praise, sanctions and rewards consistently and fairly
