Our client is one of the fastest-growing UK insurers, delivering market- leading products, underwriting, distribution, finance, and technology. We are currently representing them as they are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Legal Team. As a Specialist Legal Counsel / Senior Insurance Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice relating to non-contentious insurance matters.

The company & legal function are committed to providing excellence in the insurance industry. They pride ourselves on delivering top-notch legal support and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and are looking for a like-minded individual.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and support in the insurance industry, particularly in Insurance Distribution.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and the Head of Legal to deliver high-quality legal support.
  • Manage all legal issues arising from product distribution and provide expert advice on insurance-related matters, including delegated insurance arrangements, distribution deals, and claims queries.
  • Draught and review insurance-based agreements and policies.
  • Conduct legal research and provide guidance on regulatory issues.

Job Specific Competencies:

  • Significant experience working as a lawyer in an in-house or private practice capacity.
  • Qualified Lawyer (Solicitor or Barrister)
  • Good knowledge of legal and corporate governance processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong IT and software skills.
