Librarian

This is an exciting time to join us at Malton School, having recently joined Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust. Our first joint venture, is the delivery of a new Library and Resource Centre due to open in September 2024.

To manage this new centre we are looking to recruit a resolute and professional full time librarian. The successful applicant will have a passion for reading and books, and a sound and demonstrable knowledge of young persons literature. They will have a desire to help students develop their reading skills and encourage a strong reading ethos and culture throughout the school. We want every student to be a strong and avid reader. The post holder will use an online library resource management system alongside Microsoft365 so must be proficient in the use of IT.

We are looking for:

• Strong organisational skills

• Familiarity with library management systems and technology (Training will be given)

• A child-centred passion for literature, reading and literacy.

• A desire to help pupils reach their full potential.
