About the role:

Activate Learning has an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and creative Media Lecturer to join our teaching team based at Bracknell and Wokingham College campus.

The role will deliver across our UAL Creative Media qualifications, with particular focus on our Level 2 and 3 Diplomas. This is an excellent opportunity for a lecturer with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential, develop their attributes and become lifelong learners.

You will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate lecturers and vocational trainers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons. Our students are eager to learn and we want to appoint someone who can provide them with a high level of knowledge and skills, that they can utilise in their careers or progression to University.

Activate Learning has an excellent record of delivering vocational courses with employability embedded at their heart. This is achieved through excellent relationships with industry and the employment of experts with extensive professional experience within the teaching team.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE).

What do you need to be successful as a Media Lecturer at Activate Learning?

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree in film production, media studies and/or relevant industrial experience. We would consider applications from unqualified teachers, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to develop skills within teaching, who have a desire to become qualified. We are looking for people who can act as positive role models for our students and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational lecturer. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. We want teachers who can ensure that students leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their desire and ability to work alongside the wider team to continue to develop links with local businesses and the wider community to build and engage students in valuable work experience and project-based learning. It is essential that candidates have a background in using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, with existing practical experience in key software such as Premiere Pro, Audition and After Effects. The ability to operate/understand DSLR cameras and studio lighting would be an additional advantage. The successful candidate will also be expected to grade project work and be involved with the internal verification of both assignment briefs and marking of student work.
