The Senior Engineer II of Marine is accountable for the global design process within the designated design group and under the Design Authority of a Chief Engineer, reporting to the Director of the Product Value Stream.

This position is part of the Pall Aerospace Global Technology team, Liquid Product Line and will be preferably located in Harbourgate (Portsmouth), United Kingdom. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide leadership and specialist marine knowledge on cross functional projects through all phases of the product development process, including proposals and sales inquiries, product development and delivery, as well as continued aftermarket support.  Responsible for OTD, compliance, and quality of a thorough technical design, including alternative design solutions when required. 

  • Demonstrate your knowledge in the design process, ultimately being responsible for determining the verification and validation for design solutions by supporting technical calculations for performance, with a strong ability to influence the specification early in the design process. Perform component and assembly evaluations and qualifications and lead development of product and process validation plans and testing.

  • Collaborate with sourcing, sales, and operations on all aspects of the design process to ensure a high-quality design that addresses design for manufacturing, and sourcing options.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to the organization across at least one field (e.g., MFRO, RO, or other ship-based water treatment methods).

  • Significantly contribute to aspects of project management including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and contingency planning. 

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • German and English speaking

  • Bachelorâs degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field equivalent) with process emphasis.  Advanced Degree Preferred.

  • Minimum of seven years' related work experience, or engineering development work experience in regulated industry.

  • Demonstrated success leading projects that meet customer deliver timelines and cost requirements.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding of Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools and how and when they should be applied.

  • Relevant customer experience and skills working with a cross functional and cross departmental teams to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
