Summary
Our client supply specialist equipment designed and manufactured in-house for the Advanced Materials industry, their technology is sold throughout the world and offers customers research or production scale machines to process feedstock material into a range of high value-added products for the aerospace, defence, and general engineering sectors.
Role Description
An experienced technical buyer to lead the company s purchasing, stock control and sub- contractors, ensuring all orders / contracts are delivered on time and within agreed budgets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the company s purchasing function, including request for quotations (RFQ s)
purchase order generation, stock control and materials workflow.
- Co-ordinate with manufacturing, production and design teams.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors according to our Production / Project planning needs.
- Manage and lead supplier relations, including expansion of our supplier base to support the company s growth.
- Understand and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
- Support the Sales and Finance teams with cost requirements.
- Work closely with Design Engineers and Production Managers to coordinate and plan requirements according to project / contract deadlines.
- Develop a coordinated approach to the areas of buying, scheduling, and cost management.
The role is based at their Hailsham site. Due to the nature of the work this role cannot be fulfilled by working on a remote basis.
