Senior First Aider

School/Term Time Only

Up to £12.93 per hour

Full Time 8.30 - 4.30 Monday to Friday ( Maternity Cover)

Our client is a local secondary school looking for a Qualified First Aider to cover a maternity leave contract for a Senior First Aider.

The role of Senior First Aider is to:

  • Provide medical/first aid care to students and staff
  • Replenish medication and oversee students own prescriptions
  • Treatment of minor ailments and injuries
  • First aid record keeping
  • Provide first aid packs for field trips
  • Completion of Health and Safety records of accidents and injuries occurring on site
  • Liaising with the School Nurse on health education and students with special needs
  • Coordination of immunisation programmes within school.
  • Upkeep of the First Aid notice board
  • Dissemination of information to staff on current health issues - head lice, meningitis and asthma etc

Ideal Candidates for this role must be/have:

  • First Aid qualification an advantage but if you don't have it, you will attend a 3 day course to gain your qualification
  • Used to working with young people
  • Great communicators both in person and in writing
  • Calm and unflappable in a crisis
  • Computer literate
  • Well organised
  • Used to a busy fast paced environment
  • Ready for or have had a recent DBS check
