Contract Assignment outside of IR35
Duration - 10 months +

I am looking for a Project QS for a role with a respected Construction and Engineering firm to manage 2 concurrent projects that they have about to start on-site at the University of Leeds.

This will be a contract assignment for a minimum of 10 months in duration, commencing at the beginning of September.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation, monitoring, and management of cost plans for projects
  • Undertake measurements and valuations of work completed on-site.
  • Preparation and analysis of project costings for tenders, including materials, quantities, labour, and time.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure costs are kept within budget.
  • Assess and value variations and changes to the contract.
  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out reports.


Skills & Experience:

Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working on general construction projects.
  • Familiarity with JCT Intermediate form of contract
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor,.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, RICS New Rules of Measurement, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
