MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:

As an Operations Manager (Manager) at Kainos, you will be responsible managing and improving the day to day operational processes within the Business Unit (BU) which supports the management team and wider BU including sales, revenue and staff forecasting, , month-end closure, profitabilityâ¯and working capital.â¯

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with theâ¯Head of Operationsâ¯providing input to theâ¯sector/regionâ¯budgeting process and helps them ensure costs remain in line with the budget and overall scale of the businessâ¯â¯ ⢠Responsibility for supporting the management teamâ¯to achieve or exceed targeted profitabilityâ¯whileâ¯ensuring the accuracy of the underlying data.â¯

  • Responsibilityâ¯for operational processes within theâ¯sector/region within the BUâ¯such as revenue and staff forecasting, â¯or profitability.â¯â¯

  • Working with theâ¯sector/regionâ¯Leadership team toâ¯accurately forecastâ¯revenue andâ¯staff withinâ¯theâ¯sector/region.â¯

  • Enforcing compliance of the month end closure process within their sector/regionâ¯including timesheet submission and approval as well as review of revenue and costs,â¯invoicing,â¯and debt collection.â¯

  • Reporting and analysing key management information and taking corrective action where necessary.

  • Working closely with our Delivery Teams, to ensure that revenue and cost data is accurately captured and reported and monitoring the commercial success of our projects.

  • Managing risk within the sector/region.

  • Supporting the Territory / Sector/Regional Leads in operational matters.

  • Act as subject matter expert in one or more key business area.

  • Continuous improvement and refinement of operational processes and communicating and presenting these processes to the wider BU.â¯

  • Sharing and promoting operational and commercial best practice across the BU and wider Kainos.â¯

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum ofâ¯2â¯yearsâ experience in an operationsâ¯or finance team environment.

  • Strong commercial awareness within a professional services environment with evidence of P&L management responsibilitiesâ¯

  • Solid understanding of all operational aspects within a businessâ¯â¯

  • Demonstrable experience of creating, managing and improving processâ¯

  • Experience in managing and motivating team members and leading by example.â¯

  • Excellent communication skills including experience of formal presentations and interviewing.â¯

  • Deep understanding of all roles within the Kainos Career Lattice at all levels.â¯

  • Excellent communication skills with an affable and credible persona.⯠⢠Ability to make sound decisions under pressure, taking a balanced view of BU strategy, profitability, and staffing needs.â¯

  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbersâ¯â¯â¯

  • Ability to manage and motivate staff and lead by example.â¯

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.â¯

  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.â¯

  • Good team player with strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.â¯

  • A positive âcan doâ attitude towards the commercial, technical and staffing challenges facing Kainos.â¯â¯

  • Highly flexible, including a willingness to travel offsite including all Kainos offices as and when required.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / CA / CIMA / ACCA)

  • Experience in staff allocation
