Our client, a leading innovator in battery intelligence solutions, seeks a talented Test Development Engineer to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh.


As a Test Development Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing and developing state-of-the-art test systems to ensure the highest performance and quality standards for our client's cutting-edge products. Your expertise will be crucial in driving innovation and optimizing testing processes to meet the demands of a rapidly growing market.


Key Responsibilities for the Test Development Engineer:


Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test plans and strategiesDesign and implement advanced test hardware and software solutionsOptimize testing methodologies to enhance efficiency, yield, and cost-effectivenessTroubleshoot and resolve complex testing issues, working closely with product and design engineersProvide technical support and guidance to production teams at various stages of the development processContribute to the creation and maintenance of thorough documentation and test proceduresAnalyze and interpret test data to provide valuable insights to stakeholdersStay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in semiconductor testing


Requirements for the Test Development Engineer:


Extensive experience in semiconductor testing, including bench testing and ATE production system developmentProven track record of working with OSAT engineers in high-volume production environmentsStrong understanding of semiconductor testing processes, including wafer and package-level testingProficiency in analog and mixed-signal testing, with experience in Sigma Delta ADC converters, LDO, and precision band-gap voltage referenceFamiliarity with JTAG, SCAN, MBIST, IDDQ, Flash, and other digital circuit testing conceptsHands-on experience with Teradyne mixed-signal testers (J750HD, uFlex) or similar equipmentKnowledge of RF testing and embedded microprocessor testing is highly desirableExpertise in developing and implementing parametric trim solutions such as OTP, Flash, or Laser cut trimsExcellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to engineering challengesStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environmentProficiency in programming languages such as Python, VBA, C, or C#Familiarity with Windows or Linux operating systems and Microsoft Office softwareComfortable with using revision control software like Subversion in test program developmentProficient in using test data processing software tools such as Galaxy Examinator, SAS Jump, SEDANA, or similarAbility to develop test scripts for bench testing automation
