About the role:
- We are currently seeking a Creative Arts Technician to join our Art & Design Department at The Bedford College group.
- As a Technician you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Providing technical support and assistance to Lecturers and trainers in studio areas.
- Maintaining studio facilities and ensure serviceability and security of stock and equipment, and ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.
- Providing First aid response to learners, clients or staff where necessary.
About you:
- Experience in the Art & Design industry.
- Willingness to achieve Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent or English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
- Willingness to work towards a First Aid qualification if not already held
- Knowledge of current practices within the Art & Design industry
- Competence in checking and testing of electrical equipment for safe use
- Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs
- Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job roleAbility to consistently support the provision of a high-quality learning experience for all students
- Ability to organise and maintain stock inventories
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

About The Bedford College Group
The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
