Bristol BS TR United Kingdom EDF Energy Full time

Aztec West, Bristol - with flexibility of working from home, minimum 3 days a week in the office.

Are you a qualified Electrical Engineer? Do you have experience in electrical distribution components and technical documentation review? Are you looking to develop your expertise and build experience in the exciting and challenging environment of nuclear new build?

If so, join us as an Electrical Distribution System Contract Engineering Lead, and you'll join one of the most exciting and ambitious projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.

The Opportunity...

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.

As the Electrical Distribution System Contract Engineering Lead, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the client on all matters related to the low voltage switchboard contract and provide technical support for issue resolution. Your role includes managing the supplier's technical performance, coordinating document reviews, handling contract modifications, and overseeing the interface with various Edvance disciplines to ensure timely and quality execution of the contract.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a salary from £62,000 to £72,000, we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle, and the opportunity to earn bonus.

At EDF, everyone's welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself.  We're committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.  We'd like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We're a disability confident employer and we'll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We'll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you'll be doing

  • Acting as the primary contact for the client on all matters related to the low voltage switchboard contract and providing technical issue resolution support.
  • Overseeing the technical management of the supplier and assisting the client with contractual aspects, ensuring adherence to schedule, costs, and scope of supply.
  • Coordinating the review of supplier documents, ensuring they meet technical standards, and managing the contributions of various reviewers.
  • Leading the coordination of work between the technical lead, system engineer, and dedicated experts to ensure timely handling of documents and topics.
  • Preparing and managing comment sheets to be sent to the supplier, and organising clarifications as needed.
  • Handling contract modifications and communicating them to the supplier via the Contract Transfer Sheet (CTS) and dedicated tools.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for contract modifications, impact assessments, and technical issues or non-conformities from site activities.
  • Managing risks, opportunities, open points, and modifications related to the contract, and ensuring effective interface management with all Edvance disciplines and qualification processes.

Who you are

Your background may include some of the following:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in electrical distribution components and technical documentation review.
  • Strong ability to manage your workload effectively, ensuring high-quality documents are produced on time.
  • Proficient in clear and accurate communication, both written and verbal, in English.
