Capital Forecasting Manager

Edinburgh, United Kingdom Natwest Full time

Join us as a Capital Forecasting Manager

  • This is an opportunity to take on a critical role supporting the capital needs of the major business capital entities
  • You'll be building and managing capital and HoldCo plans for regulated legal entities, making sure there's enough supply to meet the demand over the planning horizon for base and stress scenarios
  • You'll have the chance to work alongside senior team members to make sure that capital management is cohesive, aligned, and holistic in its approach
  • This position is for a 12 month period

What you'll do

As a Capital Forecasting Manager, you'll assist with capital planning activities within Treasury and across the bank, making sure that they are robust and controlled. You'll be seeing that capital resources are deployed efficiently throughout the bank by managing capital injections and instigating capital restructurings alongside relevant stakeholders.

Other key aspects of your role will involve:

  • Understanding the policy development that impacts regulatory capital management
  • Making sure every effort is taken to meet and exceed regulatory expectations and maintain market standards
  • Bringing together a range of internal stakeholders to demonstrate a clear end-to-end process for policy and MI reporting
  • Providing capital forecasts for the bank and each material legal operating entity, taking into account ICB, budgeting, rolling forecast, and ancillary ad hoc and stress testing purposes
  • Making sure that capital plans reflect both legal entity and franchise needs

The skills you'll need

To excel in this role, you'll need treasury or banking experience together with risk management and general banking product knowledge. You'll have an awareness of best practice financial and treasury activities undertaken in peer external organisations and how to leverage opportunities for business improvement.

Due to the nature of the role, we'll need you to have an accountancy, banking or treasury qualification.

You'll also need:

  • Strong IT skills, ideally with good working knowledge of PCBS infrastructure
  • An awareness of the relevant financial, regulatory and legislative developments affecting capital frameworks
  • Good communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience of managing relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple divisions and regions
