What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring an appropriate process for project forecasting and monitoring project performance is in place to help accurately and reliably inform our business stakeholders and meet all business deadlines; establishing we are aligned with the Finance Policy Manual and Accounting Standards
  • Support quarterly forecasting cycles with understanding of latest project forecast by reviewing CSR / SSR and other reporting mechanisms, ensuring robust and effective financial controls are in place
  • Support the strategic direction of the Project Finance Capability centre. Help drive high performance across the Project Performance & IBP team and identify focus areas for improvement
  • Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business; including standardisation of existing processes
  • Inspire, support, develop and coach a team, ensuring collaborative working and consistently ensure skills and experience are matched with business demands
  • Support all Internal and External Auditors and providing information in a timely manner; driving the business to achieve successful results

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA - Fully Qualified
  • Preferably already working as a Project Accountant in manufacturing or service based industry
  • People Management Skills

The Project Finance team:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Project Finance Capability Centre. We successfully launched the new AIR PFCC operating model and now we are moving into the next stage of our growth path hence the need for additional professional support. As Senior Project Finance Team Leader you will be responsible for leading a team 8-10 finance professionals within a wider capability of 150 individuals delivering into the business supporting multiple value streams and contracts. BAE Systems Air Sector is a through-life business which delivers advanced military air capability both to our UK and many overseas customers. Air E&I (Europe & International) is responsible for the delivery of our European & International commitments for Typhoon, Tornado and Hawk, including production of aircraft, aircraft capability upgrades, and provision of through life support.
