The Opportunity

Are you passionate about data and helping organisations understand and get value from theirs?

We are looking for a motivated, experienced analyst to join our high impact team, working right at the heart of the University. The successful candidate will work on important statistical returns and summary statistics required by the Scottish Funding Council, and on a variety of internal management information. As well as confidently handling data you will be skilled at recognising and communicating key trends and ensuring we pick out the right insights to inform senior managers taking decisions.

We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrable complex data manipulation and transformation experience (see job description), including creating and editing own reports from corporate systems or datasets.
  • Communication skills, including ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders, and experience clearly summarising and presenting data in different media for varied audiences.
  • Attention to detail and understanding of data quality and integrity issues.
  • Experience of using Business Intelligence tools such as Qlikview, Alteryx or Power BU and use of a programming language, such as Python, R or SQL.
