Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager, the Storekeeper will work closely with Stores team, internal stakeholders and Supply Chain Team to coordinate and fulfil the daily demand of materials at the company’s stores, ensuring seamless service and communication with internal customers.  The role is essential in maintaining the highest standard of service and upholding our core values.

  • Issue materials in accordance with the company’s current paperwork/authorisation system.
  • Receive deliveries of stock and non-stock items, unload/handle items as necessary, and report discrepancies.
  • Operate a forklift to manage receiving and dispatching orders.
  • Assist the Stores team during inventory counts.
  • Initiate the reordering of stock as needed.
  • Obtain competitive prices electronically and order materials and fittings.
  • Operate a computer-based stock control system and perform clerical duties as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and perform routine maintenance of handling equipment.
  • Supervise the department’s loan plant.
  • Check stock returns and restock if items are in good and reusable condition.
  • Perform routine housekeeping of the store areas.
  • Provide input on product specifications for improvements.
  • Carry out any additional duties as required from time to time.

 

 

What We're Looking For

  • Educational Background: Good standard of numeracy and literacy (GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths)
  • Knowledge: Good understanding of WMS system.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Ability to carry out routine clerical/admin duties, work unsupervised, manage good relations with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, Forklift Truck Driver, knowledge of hazards associated with certain materials/chemicals.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Strong communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised are essential.
