What you'll do

Weâre looking for a Lead UX Researcher to join our super talented Bet Tribe Design team. We design, develop, test, and maintain all of Sky Betâs digital assets. We also run ITV7, Super 6 and Sky Sports Fantasy Football.

Youâll work collaboratively with the business to create innovative products, applications and software that can handle the biggest of challenges - like 11m financial transactions every Saturday afternoon.

Having progressed within the Digital Industry in recent years, youâll have well developed qualitive and quantitative research skill sets and a rich diversity of experiences to call upon. Youâll have a passion for creating easy to use, enjoyable experiences for our customers that are engaging, consistent and encourage Safer Gambling where possible.

How you'll do it

  • Working within a multidisciplinary team - You'll hypothesis and create  A/B testing plans, with a solid understanding of Analytics Platforms, A/B testing tools and User Research best practices you'll synthesis these results to improve relevant metrics.

  • You'll raise the bar for UX Research - We're a small highly talented team, every designer has a crucial role to play in advocating for user centred design and continually improving our community of practice.

  • You're a natural collaborator - Building relationships with other Research teams, Product Designers, UX Researchers, Product Management and Engineering to solve problems and prioritise UX opportunities in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with product leadership you'll provide the thought leadership developing the right product strategy and come up with solutions that keep our users coming back.

  • You're passionate about your own and others development -  You'll be managing and mentoring a small highly leveraged team of UX Researchers. You'll proactively seek out and provide feedback from designers and your wider squad in order to continually raise our bar for quality.

  • You're a design leader - you'll lead research programmes across multiple products, platforms and devices. Working with other design leads you'll build a culture of insight lead product design.

  • You'll train others in doing their own lightweight disposable low-risk evaluative research - Educating product designers in design and research methods is an ongoing part of this role. To enable the team to move quickly and design iteratively you'll develop standards, workflows and easy to follow repeatable processes.

  • You're passionate about User Centred Design - You'll bring the business on the design journey with you, working with the Product Design team you'll educate others about design thinking and its value.

  • You'll gain a deep understanding of our customers - bringing them to the forefront, ensuring data and insights are meaningful, so that genuine customer needs drive us to the best solutions.

  • You're an analytical thinker - You'll use our analytics platforms and harnessing both quantitative and qualitative data sources and insight to identify areas of the site with high-testing potential.

  • You'll define, implement and own a structure of CRO within the Bet Tribe.

Who you are:

  • You have led a team - You have experience managing or mentoring the performance and development of high-performing UX Researchers.

  • Youâre not satisfied until you see your research helping the company make better decisions - You have experience leading research in a multidisciplinary team and prioritise insights and contextualise these for people to digest.

  • You have a user and data focused mindset - You understand the importance of qualitive and quantitative methods, you have hands-on experience and know how to choose the method that best answers your questions.

  • You have implemented programs to improve operational performance -  You have significant understanding of statistics and their application to A/B testing.

  • You're passionate about what you do - You stay on top of UX research and CRO best practices.

Software Knowledge:

You must be able to demonstrate your experience with UX and Research tools such as;

  • Analysing on-site behaviour: Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Heatmap and Screen Recording software.

  • User Research and validation: UserTesting, UserZoom, Usability Hub, VWO, Optimizely, Google Optimize.

Reporting Line:

  • The Bet Design Team is led by the Bet Head of Design

  • You will report to the Head of Design who will handle your individual 1-1s to discuss career progression, cascade important information and general well being

  • Youâll be a Lead member of the Bet Design team and will play an active role in team stand-ups, design meetings and work shares

  • You will also work with wider multi-disciplinary, agile squad with a focus on specific areas/customer journeys of Sky Bet, ITV7, Super 6 and Sky Sports Fantasy Football

  • Youâll assist where possible to help the Head of Design to innovate and refine team routines to make us more efficient, innovate new processes and encourage best practice
