WHAT TO EXPECT
Risk Assurance is a pivotal role sitting at the heart of the JLR Legal & Compliance Chapter, as a key link point, providing high quality assurance over the mitigation of the risks that face the organisation
You will lead and implement an Enterprise Risk Assurance programme to support the business objectives delivered through proactive monitoring and controls testing.
This newly create role, reporting into the Head of Risk & Investigations, requires a self-starter to develop and implement a robust monitoring programme across the Enterprise Risks. The individual will need to collaborate with stakeholders and risk champions across the business in order to maximise impact and value.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering an effective risk & assurance framework, managing strategic and operational risks within appetite & tolerance, and providing assurance to the Board and stakeholders on the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Responsible for the design & deployment of the annual Risk Assessment, Risk Assurance Charter and annual Monitoring Plan
- Working within the 2nd Line of Defence to enact timely corrective actions to remediate and controls weaknesses
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the group's approach to risk and assurance is engaging and collaborative whilst maintaining appropriate oversight & independence and responsible for key reporting / data analytics in preparation for a number of governance committees
- Prioritise and escalate issues resulting in potential non-compliance to the leadership team and the Audit & Risk Committee where necessary.
- Prioritise the development of a cost-effective tool for ERM & Risk Assurance which allows for a more streamlined and robust process of managing and mitigating risks
- Risk and Assurance knowledge
- Significant knowledge of risk, internal control and compliance management frameworks.
- Good systems and technological knowledge, such as being able to utilise excel and other data systems.
- Experience within a managerial capacity, such as leading a small to medium sized teams yet and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
- An accounting or professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA with PQE
