AHU Design Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturing in the HVAC sector, are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis due to continued growth.

The successful candidates will join an established design team and will be responsible to the production of detailed designs in relation to HVAC equipment, primarily AHUs. Candidates will take Sales Proposals and develop these into live solutions to be handed over to projects.

Candidates will be qualified in a relevant engineering discipline with demonstrable experience in design of AHUs (Air Handling Units)

Working hours Monday to Thursday, on Fridays 1 day remote working available.

Package include 25 days leave+ stats and Private Health Care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing designs for projects from initial enquiry, producing costings and producing BOMs (Bill of Materials). Final design sign off of above information required prior to handover to the project team.
  • Developing new product ranges as part of Research & Development process.
  • Working as part of a multi discipline engineering team consisting of ventilation, building services, refrigeration, acoustic and control engineers to develop complex product solutions.
  • Working on varied types of drawings from single line design concepts to intricate detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Liaising with the drawing department to produce accurate working drawings for production.
  • Liaising with the drawing department to produce sales proposal drawings.
  • Providing mentoring and technical support to other engineers and technicians on areas of speciality.
  • Keeping drawing schedules up to date for issued and received drawings.
  • Managing risk effectively, collaborating with all departments and adapting to situations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Candidates will be Time Served, ideally within a mechanical discipline
  • Demonstrable experience in design of Air Handling Units
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including Assembly and Fabrication
