The successful candidate will have:

Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience.Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths.Training in relevant learning strategies e.g., literacy strategy.Specialist skills/training in curriculum or learning area e.g., sign language, ICT.

Staff Wellbeing is very important to us. As a member of Maiden Erlegh Trust staff these are just some of the examples of how we show our appreciation to staff. 

We operate a system of ‘ME days’ allowing staff to request on additional day off per year to attend special events such as children’s sports days & graduations, family and friends' weddings. CPD is available for all staff at all levels. Free flu vaccinations are offered to all staff. Free eye tests are provided for eligible staff. Breakfast and lunch provided for staff regularly, including on many INSET days and as a thank you throughout the year. 

In January 2014, a bid from Maiden Erlegh Trust to the Department for Education to open a new school in East Reading area was successful. The central proposition of the bid was to open a new school that shared the ethos, culture and values of the well-established Maiden Erlegh School in Earley, Reading, Berkshire.

We proudly opened Maiden Erlegh School in Reading to its first Year 7 students in September 2015.

The school believes that academic achievement flourishes within an ethos of clear expectations and promotes traditional values and high standards of behaviour in all areas of school life. Our overall aim is to ensure that that our students develop a lifelong love of learning and are prepared for adult life as global citizens in a changing world.

The school was inspected in September 2023, maintaining its ‘Good’ rating.
