You must have an understanding of the gendered analysis of domestic abuse and impact on women and children and in addition of how therapeutic interventions can support women and children. You should also have an understanding of the principles and practices of community development, capacity building, partnership working and be able to demonstrate experience of this within in a multi-agency setting. You will have knowledge of child protection and vulnerable adult policies and procedures and have effective organisational, report writing, presentation and IT skills. In addition, you should have effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate and engage with children, young people and their mothers. You should also be able to use a range of support skills for the benefit of children and women affected by domestic abuse and be committed to working in an inclusive manner.
