My client is a modern and ambitious law firm delivering a range of commercial and personal services to client from the individual entrepreneur and small family business to some of the UKs most successful companies and well-known brands.

Recognised as a class-leading force in the defendant personal injury field my client is seeking a junior level litigator to join the team.

The successful candidate will handle Defendant EL and PL claims, providing a high-quality service. Generally fast track claims, with occasional low value intermediate track claims.

Up to 3 years defendant litigation experience. EL/PL is desirable.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Responsible for running a varied defendant EL/PL workload (mainly from a retailperspective) from commencement of litigation to trial and occasionally handling prelitigationmatters.Provide great service to clients and ensure client services are delivered in an efficient andprofitable way.Provide recommendations on liability and quantum.The role is based within a wider litigation team, with a supportive and helpful supervisionstructure and case management system.Ensure changes in legislation and technical knowledge including case law are kept up-todate – with support being available for this.Comply with the firm’s risk management procedure and Money Laundering Regulations andensuring complaints about service and professional conduct are referred to the appropriatepartner.Carry out duties and responsibilities with due regard to the firm’s Equality & Diversity Policy.PERSON SPECIFICATION
EXPERIENCE
 Experience (up to 3 years) of defending fast track claims – essentialExperience of defending low value EL and PL claims – preferableLitigating claims in the context of Retail – preferable
SKILLS
 Organisational skills – essentialExcellent communication skills, able to communicate at all levels – essentialAbility to work to strict deadlines – essentialNumerate - essentialMicrosoft Word and Excel to an intermediate level – essentialHigh standards of accuracy with attention to detail – essential
