At Kent County Council, we are inspired by the challenge of continuous improvement. Following the promotion of an existing team member we are delighted to announce the exciting opportunity for a Principal Auditor to strengthen and expand our Internal Audit and Counter Fraud team.

We have a highly respected, successful, supportive and innovative Internal Audit team providing audit services for Kent County Council and over 25 clients including other Councils, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, the Global Commercial Services Group (with 28 businesses) and now a recently awarded role to provide services to Canterbury Cathedral.

The candidate we are looking for will:
be professionally qualified or working towards a professional qualification. aspire to delivering insightful and value-adding audits. have experience of planning and delivering risk-based audits of complex and high-risk areas. have experience of providing clients with adhoc advice and consultancy reviews. possess excellent communication and influencing skills. demonstrate a consistent ability to develop and maintain business relationships. display a good aptitude for process mapping, data analytics and agile auditing.
You should be self-motivated with a positive, flexible approach, and drive and enthusiasm to contribute towards audit delivery and maintaining our excellent reputation.

This post is offered on a full-time and permanent basis and although based in Maidstone, remote working is key to how we operate. There will be a requirement to visit external clients across the County and attending monthly team meetings in person.
