***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE***
Damsons Project Co-ordinator
We're seeking a Project Co-ordinator to join our project team on a 5-month fixed term contract to provide administrative support to the project team and deliver some participant focussed sessions.
In 2022, Peckover House and Garden opened the first National Trust meeting space where people living with mild to moderate dementias their families, and carers, can come together and share experiences, gain new skills, and take a break from caring responsibilities. This new service, Damsons, currently offers twice-weekly sessions in the newly renovated Reed Barn and thanks to funding from AIM Connected Communities we now have the opportunity to grow this offer for local people and secure its future.
If you’re well organised with bags of initiative and good at developing relationships, then this could be the ideal role for you.
What it's like to work here
You’ll be supporting the Senior Partnership and Programming Officer who designs and delivers the programme for participants. You’ll work alongside a close team of operational staff and volunteers and connect with regional specialists as well as external partners. You’ll also be part of a national network of project professionals, benefiting from shared learning and development opportunities. Your role will be based at Peckover House, with hybrid-working enabling you to balance your workdays between home and the property.
What you'll be doing
Within the Damsons team, it’s all about supporting people. You’ll research and present information, offering an efficient and effective business support service.
Working within the appropriate project frameworks you’ll provide a clear audit trail for decisions and activities undertaken within the project, regularly reporting on progress against budgets, programme of work and funding. Supporting project communications, you’ll proactively keep stakeholders and project team members up to date, celebrating achievements and highlighting any risks or issues.
You’ll support the creative activity planning and preparation of resources for the sessions. You’ll lead sessions with volunteers that deliver positive and engaging activities for people with sensory needs using the collections and gardens at Peckover and provide a welcome and inclusive environment which encourages participant independence.
We will provide training for working with people living with dementias. As this role is required to work with vulnerable groups, any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
Who we're looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- excellent organisational and planning skills
- great people skills that build good working relationships
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- good research and reporting skills
- knowledge of budgets, finance, and co-ordination of projects
- the ability to work well both in a team and on your own initiative.
- good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
The package
