Our client is a UK based manufacturer providing product to be despatched across the globe. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager they are looking to add an experienced and skilled Multi skilled Electrically biased maintenance Engineer to join them on days Monday-Friday

About you the Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer

  • Candidates need to come from an Industrial / Manufacturing / Plant background, with good understanding of manufacturing operations and challenges.
  • Experience of delivering electrical maintenance, including industrial applications and working with 3 phase electrical installations.
  • Experience of handling reactive electrical maintenance and breakdowns in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Have extensive electrical knowledge / training, with a proven track record.
  • Have experience of working with different types of machine controls and interfaces, including PLCs, HMIs and Inverter drives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to converse at all levels.
  • Be able to analyse process problems to diagnose, report upon and solve them.
  • Possess basic mechanical skills.
  • Experience of mechanical/hydraulic drive systems would be advantageous.

The role of the Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer

  • Plan and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance of all plant equipment on site
  • Maintaining PPM schedules, work procedures and involvement in continuous improvement activities
  • Respond to equipment faults and diagnosing breakdown problems to minimize downtime
  • Plan, implement and coordinate safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions. Promoting workplace and equipment safety by identifying and monitoring potential hazards to people or the sites equipment
  • Awareness and Adherence of Health and Safety Policies.
  • Assistance may be required to undertake risk assessments

Requirements for the role -

  • Level 3 City and Guilds 2365 Electrotechnical Craft or similar qualification.
  • City and Guilds 2382-22 (18th Edition, Second amendment).
  • NVQ/ONC/HNC or additional relevant qualification.
  • Relevant industrial electrical experience.
  • Time served apprenticeship with a minimum of 5 years in manufacturing/plant environment desirable.
