Group Accountant

Belfast City Centre - Hybrid after probation

£35,000 - £40,000 (With yearly salary reviews)

We are currently seeking to recruit a Group Accountant on a full time, permanent basis to be based at their HQ in their Belfast Centre Office.

Roles & Responsibilities;

·       Partner with the Group Financial Director to elevate the companyâs financial performance to new heights.

·       Preparation of comprehensive management and statutory year-end accounts for all companies.

·       Prepare dynamic half-year management accounts

·       Take the lead on auditing company research grants with Innovate UK, showcasing our innovative edge.

·       Conduct meticulous valuation and write-down of stock at year-end, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

·       Strategically plan and distribute budgets, to ensure financial strategy is met.

·       Ensure timely and accurate submission of statistical surveys, keeping us ahead of the curve.

·       Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, expertly handling foreign currency transactions.

·       Travel to subsidiary sites to perform thorough half-year and year-end stocktakes, ensuring precise cut-off procedures.

·       Reconcile card payments with customer accounts.


What we are looking for;

·       Ideally you will be a newly qualified accountant but part qualified may also be considered with extensive experience

·       Able to demonstrate previous experience and/or knowledge in managing budgets, formulating management accounts, detailed understanding of basic sales ledger & purchase ledger processing, manufacturing processes and stock control

·       Meticulous attention to detail

·       Strong communication skills

·       Problem solving skills

·       Experience of Microsoft suite & strong ability within Excel.

·       Ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team

·       Strong work ethic with a can-do attitude
