Brighton, United Kingdom Varndean College Part time

Varndean College is one of the most successful sixth form colleges nationally. Offering a broad range of academic and vocational courses, we have an excellent reputation for inclusion and adding value.

At Varndean College, we’re not just here to deliver a great education. We want to break down the barriers to learning so people get the chance to become their best – whoever they are and whatever the challenges they face.

Joining our safeguarding team as Specialist Mental Health Lead & DDSL, we are seeking a driven and enthusiastic person to lead our mental health services and provide leadership for student wellbeing and therapy services to ensure high-quality support and care for students.

You will work with students with mental health needs that impact students' learning to ensure that they can access and engage in College life successfully. To do this, you will:

  • liaise with academic and pastoral staff, and external service providers;
  • provide consultation and targeted (small group) intervention;
  • provide individual one-to-one support;
  • conduct and advise on risk assessments where appropriate.

    Contract: Part-time, fixed term, term time only
