Opportunity

We are seeking an Export Documentation professional to join our Finance team in Ipswich, Suffolk. This position will control all aspects of export and participate in credit control to facilitate prompt deliveries to customers and the timely collection of monies due.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing/validating all export documentation, ensuring absolute accuracy to protect the company's assets;
• Administration of direct shipments ex-USA including all aspects of credit control, documentation, and international procedures, together with related freight charges;
• Ensuring that all export shipments are either covered by a secure method of payment or are within credit limits;
• Managing container shipment documents for despatches to the US and the approval process with Wells Fargo for factoring;
• Maximisation of cash flow into the Company including clearance of letters of credit and bills of exchange or arranging advance payments;
• Checking of due dates and issue of export invoices and credit notes to ROW customers;
• Maintaining Tariff and Vendor information for HS Commodity codes and Country of Origin records;
• Obtaining certificates of origin using E-Cert system and manage relationship with the Chamber of Commerce;
• To accurately maintain the Sales Ledger (currently Oracle);
• Deputising for the Senior Credit Controller as required;
• Performing any ad hoc tasks and projects required by the Manager Accounting;
• Contributing to team spirit to achieve the team's goals.

Qualifications/Skills/Education Required:

• A minimum of five GCSE's grade A - C {5 } (including English and Maths) or equivalent;
• Relevant experience in export documentation and customs disclosures;
• You should be a team player;
• Numerically accurate, methodical and thorough;
• Computer literate, knowledge of SAP would be preferable;
• Able to build strong relationships with customer contacts and Financial Institutions;
• Able to work under pressure with a flexible attitude.
