Job Title: Site Operative with Forklift Licence

Swanstaff are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Site Operative with a valid forklift licence to join our client based in Northfleet. As a Site Operative, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our recycling and recovery facilities, ensuring the safe handling and processing of various waste materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a forklift to transport materials within the facility.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of waste materials from vehicles and containers.
  • Sort, segregate, and process waste materials according to company procedures and regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and protocols at all times.

Requirements:

  • Valid forklift licence (counterbalance) with demonstrated experience in safe forklift operation.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the waste management or recycling industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to waste handling and forklift operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
