About us:

Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. Here at Princess Alice, you have the opportunity to make a satisfying, rewarding difference to the lives of our patients, their families and friends, and be supported every step of the way. We’re small enough for you to see the impact your medical skills have, and big enough to support you with training, experience and opportunities. In November 2022, we were rated as overall Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The CQC team commented on our focus on each person’s individual needs and the expressed view that staff went 'the extra mile' with empathy and compassion.

About the role:

This post will be a key part of the Consultant team. You will primarily support our In-Patient Unit, looking after hospice patients with a Multi – Professional team approach, providing urgent and planned medical reviews for patients as needed. You will also provide regular support to the Wellbeing Centre, as well as cover for our Hospice at home. You will be available to support and provide cross-cover to consultant medical team colleagues. Join Our Team For Excellence. For Compassion. For People. For Living. Our Medical Team has a weekly rolling programme of continuous professional development and journal clubs to support your learning and development. You will also have the opportunity to contribute more widely to Hospice clinical services including teaching, audit, and research.

About You:

Having strong communication and people skills is fundamental as you will be required to work in partnership with the multi-professional team, ensuring every patient and their needs are always at the centre of what you do. You will draw on your expertise to carry out a holistic assessment of patients and work collaboratively with the other healthcare professionals to provide excellent care for our patients and their families. You will need to share and be able to demonstrate our five key values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Finally, you will be able to provide evidence of full registration, with a GMC licence to practice and ongoing appraisal / revalidation.

Be the difference at moments that really matter.

At Princess Alice Hospice we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that values diversity. We are fully committed to equality of opportunities, and we warmly welcome applications from all backgrounds and cultures.
