This is an exciting new opportunity for a veterinary surgeon who is enthusiastic about training the next generation of veterinary surgeons in clinical communication and professional skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on the development of a comprehensive communications curriculum by sharing your knowledge and experience to ensure competence in the primary-care practitioners of the future.

Based at our Preston campus as part of the academic team, you will be responsible for delivering teaching and assessment around all aspects of clinical communication and professional skills, including developing simulated and scenario-based education with a particular focus on pragmatic and contextual care.

You will have an enthusiasm for developing high quality, innovative educational experiences, and ideally will also have:

  • A good honours degree in veterinary sciences, or another relevant discipline, and experience of communicating in the veterinary context with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Higher education teaching qualification or professional (e.g. PGCHE, FHEA or equivalent), or a commitment to complete within one year of appointment
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent clinical specialisation.
  • The School is developing further research activities and postgraduate teaching opportunities, along with bespoke teaching and research environments. Collaboration with internal and external research networks is encouraged.
