We currently have an outstanding opportunities to make a real impact within North Wales Police as a Crime Data integrity Unit (CDIU) Assessor, where you’ll provide a crucial service to ensure the force complies with the Home Office recording standards achieving the highest level of crime data integrity. You’ll be working alongside a substantial team of experts and will receive fully structured training and continued support to ensure you thrive within the role. 

With attention to detail being of the utmost importance, you’ll be able to provide expertise as a force specialist in the application of statistical classification in line with the Home Office Counting Rules and assess RMS occurrences and I-cad events in line with the HOCR and NCRS to identify individual requirements and the vulnerability of the persons contained within the reports to ensure the investigation is dealt with correctly.

Here are some of the accountabilities of the CDIU Assessor role:

To provide expertise as a force specialist in the application of statistical classification in line with the Home Office Counting Rules

To assess RMS occurrences and I-cad events in line with the HOCR and NCRS to identify individual requirements and the vulnerability of the persons contained within the reports to ensure the investigation is dealt with correctly.

To provide specialist crime recording advice when required to others in force. Advice which could have a direct impact upon those concerned.

To identify ‘quality of life issues’ and repeat occurrences, to research such occurrences and, where necessary, ensure that the police response is appropriate and proportionate.

Read and interpret occurrences and make ethical crime recording decisions in line with the NDM which are rationalised, documented and withstand robust scrutiny. 

Review occurrence to identify any further or duplicate crimes within the available information 

Communicate information of a sensitive, confidential or personal nature ethically

Identification and escalate of threat, harm, risk and vulnerability within crime occurrences

To act as a crime recording specialist for staff seeking to report non-urgent occurrences and create quality corresponding records.

Mentor new assessors, quality assure their work, provide verbal and written feedback to ensure their development

To research the Police National Computer(PNC), Force Command and Control System (I-cad), RMS, and other relevant Force systems for relevant data as and when required

What will I need to be considered for this Disclosure Agent role?

NVQ level 3, or equivalent qualification and/or proven relevant experience.

Good communication skills together with the ability to work well in a team environment or on their own initiative.

Proven use of information technology to an intermediate level together with knowledge of Microsoft software.

Proven decision making ability showing clear thought processes when applying procedural knowledge to a given situation in order to reach a solution.
