Our client is looking for a VFX Artist to join their growing team near Burton upon Trent. The role offers hybrid working with the option to work up to 2 days a week from home and the rest in the office. This full-time VFX artist role comes with a generous salary and benefits package.

As a VFX Artist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing captivating visual effects that enhance the immersive qualities of the studio's games and deliver rewarding and informative feedback for players.

To give you an idea of how this VFX Artist role will look and feel, here are some of the things you can expect to do:

  • Collaborate closely with the art, design and engineering teams to create and integrate high-quality real-time visual effects for characters, environments and gameplay mechanics
  • Ensure VFX assets align with the game's artistic direction and technical requirements while adhering to performance and gameplay considerations
  • Contribute to the development of shaders and materials that enhance the visual impact of VFX while maintaining a consistent art style
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and techniques in real.

To apply for this VFX Artist role, you will need an impressive portfolio demonstrating mastery of real-time VFX creation and implementation in video games. You will also require proficiency in industry standard VFX tools and software, such as Unity's Particle System and VFX graph or similar systems. In addition, you should have an understanding of the principles of animation, physics and lighting as they relate to VFX.

The town is located near some of the biggest cities in the Midlands, such as Birmingham and Nottingham. It is best known for its brewing industry, being the home of famous beers and lagers including Carling and is currently home to eight independent breweries. The town is also home to a popular indoor market, which is an integral part of Burton's culture. After extensive recent refurbishments, it features an array of vibrant shops and stalls including local traders and full-sized restaurants. Burton also holds an outdoor market three times a week, selling locally grown fruit and vegetables as well as flowers and outdoor plants. With two game studios in the area, not including the ones in the surrounding cities, Burton is home to creatives and game enthusiasts and has plenty of opportunities for those in the industry.
