About the role:

We are currently seeking a Science Lecturer to join The Bedford College Group at our Cauldwell Campus. As a Science Lecturer you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering and assessing subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels.
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Managing students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.
  • Undertaking course administration as necessary.
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments within the Programme Area regarding curriculum and innovative teaching.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities for the Programme Area.

About you:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Degree in a science related topic or considerable work experience in the key subjects
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
  • Ability to teach some of the following science subjects:

-forensic science

- medical science

- biology, physics, chemistry

- collection and analysis of scientific data

  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
  • Experience of working constructively to achieve team objectives and deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and work effectively to deadlines
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns
  • Willingness continuously to update skills and knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
