Marketing & Social Media Executive

Salary: Starting Dependant upon experience, expected starting salary £30,000

Location: Bristol, with occasional travel to affiliated companies in the UK & Netherlands

Predominantly office based with flexible working considered

Flowervision Bristol are part of one of the biggest international exporters of flowers, Van Duyvenvoorde, who are based in the Netherlands. At our wholesale cash and carry in Bristol, we supply an array of independent florists and plant shops with an extensive variety of flowers, plants and sundries across the South West of England and Wales.

We are seeking a highly motivated Marketing & Social Media Executive to join our growing team. This is a new role for the business, so will require an ambitious and talented candidate with previous experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone to inspire our audience and set us apart from the rest of the market.

At Flowervision Bristol, our excellent customer service and personable attitude is one of our core values, and it is important to us that this is portrayed via our social media channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various marketing activities, including social media management, content creation, liaison with internal departments, customer engagement and design work.

Additional knowledge of the flower industry would be beneficial, but not essential, however we are looking for someone who is passionate about flowers and plants and eager to learn more. This is a very exciting opportunity, with potential for quick progression and to help the business develop and implement their new brand.

Marketing & Social Media Executive Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business goals
  • Develop and execute a marketing calendar in line with key events throughout the flower and plant trade
  • Monitor social media and customer trends to create relevant content for social media platforms, including posts, graphics, and videos that resonates with our larger corporate customers as well as our traditional florist and plant customer base
  • Coordinate and schedule regular social media activities, as well as email campaigns and communications
  • Utilise analytics to optimise social media and marketing activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams in Bristol & the Netherlands to create content aligned with relevant incoming stock & promotions
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and requirements and manage customer WhatsApp groups
  • Implement creative thinking approaches to enhance our new brand visibility and market presence and create a brand toolbox for the business to use
  • Help with the planning and organising of key events
  • Website management and creation of relevant blogs to inform and inspire our customers
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment across multiple work streams

Marketing & Social Media Executive Required:

  • Marketing degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience in marketing in a similar role
  • Expertise in social media management and content creation
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Experience with graphic design tools such as InDesign, Canva, or Adobe
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to adapt and pick up new systems
  • Experience/knowledge of CRM
