Convatecâs sustainability internship programme will offer emerging leaders the opportunity to engage in a variety of focused topics during Q3. The aim of the programme is to give interns a learning experience that allows the application of skills and development in a professional setting, whilst supporting our subject matter experts to advance key priority projects


 

About the role

This role reports into the Director of Procurement in Deeside, who will provide guidance and mentorship during the placement.  You will  be assigned a project to assess how we can remove single use plastics from our products and packaging.

  • 100% paid internship â 1,833.33 GBP monthly gross.

  • Length of the internship â From July until September.

  • Hours per week â 35h/week.

Your key duties and responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior category manager to understand all single use plastics that we purchase and find out what happens at the end of life for these products.

  • Carry out desktop research to know whether these plastics can be returned, and what options we have to give the plastics a âsecond lifeâ.

  • Communicate directly with suppliers to get a better understanding of the different single use plastics we purchase, with the potential of visiting supplier locations.

  • Complete a feasibility study around the return of single use plastics which may involve discussions with sales teams, customers, logistics and others.

  • Complete a comprehensive report clearly explaining how we can reuse single use plastics.

  • Present findings to procurement leadership team

  • Ability to work independently and be an excellent team player working collaboratively and participating in projects.

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to present and communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Flexible, adaptable and capable of lateral thinking.

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills and ability to multi-task. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite of applications.

  • English language â good communication level.
