We are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Technical Animator to join our team at Lighthouse Games. As a Principal Technical Animator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the animation pipeline and driving excellence in animation quality across our games. You will lead a team of talented Technical Animators, collaborating closely with artists, designers, and programmers to develop advanced animation systems and push the boundaries of character animation in our games.
Key Duties Include
Lead and mentor a team of Technical Animators, providing guidance, feedback, and supportEstablish and enforce animation standards and best practicesCollaborate with artists, designers, and programmers to develop advanced animation systems and toolsCreate and maintain efficient animation pipelines, ensuring smooth workflow and optimized performanceStay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in animation technologyDrive innovation and improvement in animation processes and techniquesWork closely with cross-functional teams to ensure animations meet gameplay and technical requirements
Requirements
Significant experience as a Technical Animator in the games industryBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Animation, or a related fieldExpert knowledge of animation software such as Maya, MotionBuilder, and/or 3DS MaxStrong understanding of game engines, including Unity and Unreal EngineProficiency in scripting languages such as Python or C#Extensive experience with rigging and skinning complex charactersDeep understanding of animation principles and techniquesProven leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilities
