Primary Teacher

We seek to appoint a primary-trained teacher to support our KS3 students to secure solid numeracy and literacy skills. This is an exciting new role in our secondary setting, as we envisage it helping identified students to transition successfully into secondary school life. The successful candidate will be delivering engaging literacy and numeracy lessons to small groups of students who did not meet expected standards at KS2. You will have the skills to motivate and engage students and a continuous objective to enrich the lives and learning experiences of our young people.

The successful candidate will:
- be an excellent practitioner and have good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum;
- work well as an integral part of a team, valuing the contributions of all;
- be organised, enthusiastic, positive and be prepared to work hard;
- work flexibly across a number of classes over the week;
- demonstrate excellent teaching skills;
- plan appropriately and creatively for children’s individual needs and interests;
- make a positive contribution to the life of the school.
Southway is a subsidiary company of the Rodillian Multi Academy Trust, providing alternative and vocational opportunities in education for students at KS3 and KS4, who may otherwise have been excluded from mainstream school.
