Our client is a leading manufacturing company looking to expand their well-established workforce

They have an exciting position for a Coating Operative to oversee the preparation, coating, and in-process inspection of customer products. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and be comfortable working with semi-automatic equipment and various coating techniques.

Key Responsibilities of a Spray Technician

  • Prepare customer products for spraying, including cleaning, masking, and blasting.
  • Operate semi-automatic equipment using predetermined programs.
  • HVOF & Plasma spraying of customer products.
  • Sealing process of customer products.
  • Maintain control of jigging/fixtures to ensure they are readily available and placed in the correct designated area.
  • Stock control of powder and ensure it is stored in a neat and tidy manner.
  • Strip coating from jigs/fixtures.
  • Inspect goods inwards of received products.
  • Perform in-process inspection of customer products.
  • Monitor and report on all materials affecting processing.
  • Ensure machines/spray booths are operated according to site and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment and practice good housekeeping/5S techniques.

Key Skills of a Coating Operative:

  • Experience in preparing and spraying techniques such as HVOF and plasma spraying.
  • Ability to operate semi-automatic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and in-process inspection skills.
  • Knowledge of stock control and material handling.
  • Good understanding of health & safety and environmental procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and housekeeping skills.
