Mechanical Workshop Senior Machinist

Purpose of the Senior Machinist Job:

The company is seeking a skilled Mechanical Workshop Senior Machinist to program, set, and operate CNC-controlled machines within their state-of-the-art Mechanical Workshop.

Principal Accountabilities for the Senior Machinist Job:

  • Set and operate machinery efficiently to produce high-quality parts.
  • Manage time and workload effectively.
  • Inspect work to ensure the highest standards are met.
  • Advise team members on industry best practices.
  • Set a positive example and coach junior machine operators.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience needed for the Senior Machinist Job:

  • Proven experience in CNC machine operation and programming, using both machine and offline CAM methods.
  • Knowledge of Mazatrol controls is essential.
  • Familiarity with Edgecam software is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Developed proficiency in relevant processes through job-related training and substantial on-the-job experience.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail to maintain or exceed production standards and efficiency.
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience in a high-technology environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Highly competent in using a wide range of measuring equipment.
  • An apprenticeship or time-served background is considered.
