Job Title: Estimator

Location: Northampton

Salary: up to £52k

Hours of Work: 40 Hours Monday Friday

Type: Permanent

Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

A specialist contractor with a growing reputation in the market now require an Estimator to join their busy pre-construction team.


Duties

  • Liaising with new and existing clients.
  • Liaising with supply chain members from enquiry to contract award.
  • Produce costings and provide consultation answer relevant queries regarding the estimate provided.
  • Preparing quotes and cost summaries.
  • To undertake any other general support and administration duties as will be required from time to time.

It is essential or preferrable that you have the following experience, qualifications or skills;

  • Experience as an Estimator within a Main Contractor or Residential Developer setting.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar estimating role.
  • Experience in doing take offs
  • Familiar with SMM7, NRM3 and major forms of measurement methods.
  • Conversant in all major forms of contract, particularly JCT.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office especially Excel, or other forms of taking off and estimating software.
  • Good understanding of the building industry.
  • Ability to control numerous projects at any one time.
  • Able to deal with tough negotiations and pressures of fast paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Practical team player with a hands-on style.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Attention to detail.
