Project Manager - Chessington, London
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to take charge of leading and executing high-value Capex Projects over £1 million at Merlin’s Wildest Adventure – Chessington World of Adventures. Dive into a dynamic role where you'll manage thrilling developments and enhancements at one of the UK's most exciting theme parks, ensuring each project delivers unforgettable experiences for our guests.
In this role you will;
Provide comprehensive support to on-site Project Management teams, ensuring the successful delivery of multiple new Merlin Projects, especially resort-based initiatives and other specified projects over £1 million. Guarantee timely completion, adherence to approved budgets, and achievement of desired quality standards.
Maximize the value of every pound, dollar, and euro spent on major Capex attractions and features exceeding £1 million. Ensure each project is meticulously designed and built to offer exceptional value and guest experiences.
Thoroughly investigate and track the feasibility of all potential new projects, focusing on feasibility, cost, and planning. Make informed decisions to drive successful project outcomes.
Adhere to MMM/MEG project policies and procedures, effectively managing all elements of risk. Ensure a seamless handover to the operating group, enabling the business to function smoothly from the scheduled in-use date.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience Project Manager with qualifications in a construction related discipline. Degree qualified (or equivalent) advantageous. Possesses a strong understanding of local authority requirements, rules and regulations and their impact upon projects. Possesses a thorough understanding of planning restrictions and potential impacts on projects. Has a full understanding of construction methods and the interaction between elements on Ride Projects to deliver optimum performance during Construction Phases Strong knowledge of the HSE regulations and associated management requirements for construction projects – through design and whilst on site.Evidence of conducting:
Feasibility studies Programme Management Cost Management Change Management Tendering / procurement Design Management Site Management Snagging Defect resolution Soft Landings handover processDesirable
APM (Association for Project Management) preferable, or RICS, RIBA, Engineering equivalent. CSCS card advantageous. Site Management qualification (SMSTS) also advantageous. Knowledge of more specialist trades such as the Audio Visual and Special Effects suppliers and Ride Safety Authorities that issue our Safety DOCs prior to new rides opening. Ideally experience should be gained on project exceeding £1m. Ideally some experience of the leisure industry or one equally demanding (student accommodation / defence) would be desirable.Benefits
