The Role
The School of Modern Languages wishes to appoint to the position of Lecturer in Spanish (Teaching and Scholarship), starting on 1st September 2024.

Priority areas: Cultural studies and Translation

This fixed term 12 month post is offered at Lecturer (Grade F) level. The salary will be determined by the appointee's ability to meet the requirements of the person specification and job description.

We welcome applications from outstanding academics who are able to contribute to the development of innovative learning and teaching within the School, particularly in the areas of cultural studies and translation, taking account of developments within the discipline, changes in the market, and best practice in learning and teaching.

The appointee will have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and experience of teaching Spanish language and cultural studies in a higher education context. They must have the ability to deliver innovative teaching on our undergraduate programmes in Spanish and to contribute to the design and delivery of the School's curriculum. Relevant experience in teaching from B1 to C2 courses (CEFR) is essential for this post as well as expertise in innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
