You will be responsible for support of oversight and governance of the payments services that J.P. Morgan delivers to United Kingdom domiciled merchants. Your primary focus will be ensuring compliance with policies and governance frameworks through standardisation and co-ordination of outsourcing relationships. You will engage with multiple internal stakeholder groups such as Sales & Relationship, Operations, Service, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Legal is critical to the success of this role.

Job responsibilities

  • Support the Head of UK Merchant Services CS&I on a variety of responsibilities including ongoing development and delivery of the required oversight of CS&I functions outsourced to entities outside of the UK.
  • Liaison with local Payments governance teams, EU Merchant Services and to act as conduit to the Global CS&I organization and work closely with cross functional partners to ensure Payment Services Directive (PSD) obligations are met.
  • Accountable for outsourcing management TPO and governance as location contact.
  • Anticipate internal and external factors impacting the business' governance and implement plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Represent CS&I in governance steering forums and committees where required.
  • Oversee any client money safeguarding processes, including annual due diligence and suitability assessments.
  • Support 2nd / 3rd line of defense and external auditors with monitoring activity.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Understanding of UK Outsourcing regulations (PRA / FCA).
  • Familiarity with the firm's Inter-affiliate services program and LEORA technology solution for outsourcing.
  • Several years' experience in Banking / Investment Banking operations.
  • Strong team player with aptitude for risk management, compliance and third-party oversight.
  • A good understanding of J.P. Morgan Payments' products and services and appreciation of respective business environments, especially Merchant Services.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation / automation tools - Tableau, Xceptor, Alteryx.
  • Ability to complete work to deadlines, with a sense of urgency thorough effective time management including: goal setting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Superior presentation and communication skills. Can sell self and ideas.
  • Governance experience in Banking (outsourcing governance advantageous).
  • Excellent report writer and summarizer of complex issues / solutions.
  • Self-motivation coupled with strong analytical skills and internal process control skills.
