We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Foodbuy as a Finance Business Partner. This high-profile role is responsible for the Pricing of a high-value sector contract and is pivotal in supporting the individual business needs to drive the profitability and ensure contract governance is met. 

The Finance Business Partner will be focusing on understanding the contract specifics and working with the Compass team to drive profitability with your acquired knowledge of the Foodbuy finance pricing movements and systems. 

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Business Partnering a Sector of the Compass business ensuring strong data-lead decision-making, managing pricing models, providing commercial opportunities and solutions. 
  • Provide Pricing support to the business in developing, influencing and executing the overall contract.
  • Develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Pricing, Procurement, and Sector teams.
  • Work with the wider finance team to continually develop KPIs and ensure that teams are focusing on the right metrics to drive profitability.
  • Management, tracking and finding opportunities to current and future proposed pricing of products/menus and switches.
  • Overall responsibility for forecasting & governance of contract pricing adherence – highlighting and managing risks and opportunities around achievement of contract requirements.
  • Calculate and manage the financial risks and opportunities arising from volumetric and other contract mechanisms.
  • Ownership of the price file results and reporting of performance against audit requirements 
  • Consistently Manage monthly/ quarterly price updates and ensure 100% delivery of results.
  • Preparation and review of monthly management information including in depth product analysis and underlying performance reporting.
  • Prepare monthly business review pack and present at Sector/client monthly meeting.
  • Delivering initiative-taking ad-hoc financial analysis to support business unit decision-making.
  • Visibility at business head offices to support operators as and when the business requires.

The successful Finance Business Partner will have proven skills of working to tight timelines, think commercially and be able to provide insight and options from raw data to end results.  An initiative-taking individual, with great commercial acumen, technical capability, and high integrity. They will also have

  • Experience of commercial analyst/business partnering senior stakeholders with the ability to challenge, influence and persuade at all levels.
  • Confidence to make decisions, recommendations and advise the teams.
  • High numeric and analytical skills and diligence
  • Comfortable developing and working with complex spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrable commercial finance experience of improving business results and adding value.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically.
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and present information concisely.
  • Driver of innovation and continuous improvement

Desirable:

  • Experience of operating within a procurement/food & non-food service/pricing service organisation
  • Good working knowledge of SAP/data systems/data manipulation
