Job Description

The Alternative procedures to Design Organization Approval Manager will oversee activities related to our UK CAA design organization approval. This will involve acting as the focal for liaison with the authority for product approvals and ensuring that compliance with our responsibilities as an ADOA approval holder are maintained. You will monitor developments in both products and regulations to help develop our processes in line with shifting business needs and developing compliance landscape. Our Systems business includes a portfolio of Technical Standard Order approved avionics products for which maintenance of our ADOA approval is critical. These products support civil and military customers worldwide and are leading the way in cockpit display technologies and open platform solutions. In this role you will learn and utilize your experience and expertise to maintain and demonstrate our continuing compliance for our products and systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Acting as focal for certification authority contact
  • Leading audits by certification authorities
  • Maintenance of authority approved ADOA procedures
  • Manage the process for initial TSO approval and change approvals by working closely with projects
  • Maintaining awareness of current and upcoming changes to regulations by authorities (UK CAA, EASA, FAA, MAA) and communicate these to programs, process owners and the wider business. This may involve attending conferences and seminars and participation in working groups
  • Participation in internal process working groups
  • Participation in Safety management reviews
  • Managing the impact of post-approval changes to approved products
  • Preparation and distribution of Continued Airworthiness documents

             

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience of working in an engineering environment subject to aviation regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of EASA/CAA Part21 Subpart J â DOA Approvals
  • Knowledge of EASA/CAA Part21 Subpart O â ETSO Approvals
  • Familiarity with working to, and contribution to the development of a compliant process framework
  • Experience in certification in areas of AEH/DO-254 and/or DO-178 an/or ARP 4754
  • Knowledge of DAOS being a plus
  • Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science or in âSTEMâ Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent knowledge and experience
