Warrington, United Kingdom Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Do you have a passion for neonatal care and a desire to make a network-wide impact on education? The North-west Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (NWNODN) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Neonatal Medical Education Fellow to join our team. As Medical Education fellow, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic Network support service across the NWNODN. The post-holder will support the strategic and operational delivery of the NWNODN education strategy over a fixed term period of one year. This will be as part of a joint post shared with the regional Neonatal Transport Service, Connect NW which is the busiest service in the UK and offers excellent experience within the field of Neonatal Transport. The post would suit an ST6 to 8 Neonatal Grid Trainee, seeking an out of programme placement, or a candidate with equivalent experience who is enthusiastic about medical education. The post is available on a full time basis for one year with an anticipated start date of March 2025. Candidates who wish to undertake a formal academic educational qualification will be supported financially to do so.

Main duties of the job

For the clinical component of the post, you will be based at the brand new Connect NW operational centre in Warrington, which has excellent educational and staff well being facilities. You will work alongside an experienced team of Consultants, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Transport Nurses providing a comprehensive 24/7 transfer service to 22 neonatal units within the NW region. The team are supported by administrative staff working within the cot bureau and a dedicated fleet of high quality ambulances.

The educational aspects of the post will primarily relate to the implementation of the BAPM Neonatal Airway Safety Standard in units across the NWNODN, developing educational resources and delivering multi-discipliniary training through simulation and other educational packages.
