Job title: Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contracting

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £75,000 per annum + package

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor which is critical for managing the financial and contractual aspects of our large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Lead the cost management process for projects, ensuring budgets are adhered to.
  • Tendering: Oversee the preparation and submission of tender documents, including detailed bills of quantities.
  • Valuation: Conduct regular cost analyses and valuations for work completed.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts and ensure compliance with all contractual terms.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage financial risks associated with projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and other team members.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, processes, and legislation.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
