Trainee Mechanical Assembler / Fitter

Our client has an opportunity for a Trainee Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join their team based at their site in Poole.
The Role
You will be responsible for assisting with and learning all procedures associated with final assembly and testing of all products. Ensure all products are assembled and tested in accordance with relevant technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for participating in all training provided to ensure learning of all aspect of tasks and responsibilities, as listed below, to enable progression from trainee to Semi-Skilled Mechanical Assembler / Fitter.
* The assembly and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) of all product lines.
* Work closely with the DTI engineering team to ensure all assembly and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) issues are addressed appropriately
* Carry out work safely, as allocated by the Assembly Supervisor within set timescales and to the DTI standards.
* Prioritises workload in accordance with schedule and/or supervisory instruction
* Carry out any duties within level of competence, as requested by the Assembly Supervisor
* Flexibility will be required to work extra hours during busy periods.
* Maintain and use all PPE as and when required.
* Record all relevant test results in accordance with procedures.
* Participating in training, as required
* Ensure work environment is kept clean/tidy and material/tools/gauges/consumables are correctly stored and accessible.
Skills and Qualifications
* Mechanical background preferred
* Experience of fault finding and general mechanical fitting.
* Flexibility and ability to work as part of a small team
* Qualifications in numeracy and literacy
* Positively receptive to change and taking on additional tasks in any area of assembly/production
* Computer literate
